How do I call internationally?

  1. First you should go to our sonic international calling page and search the country you are calling.
    • If the country is highlighted green and there is a globe next to it then it should be part of our borderless calling program.
  2. After determining the country code you need to dial you would the International Direct Dialing number, or the IDD.
    • Some countries have have more than one IDD.
  3. After dialing the country code you may need to dial the city or area code. Some countries may not have city or area codes but some others do.
    • For example if you were to dial Birmingham, United Kingdom you would need to dial 011 (The exit code for the USA) 44 (The country code for the UK) 121 (City code for Birmingham) 555-5555 (The phone # you are dialing). (011-44-121-555-5555)

International Calling Rates

The Fusion Global Calling plan provides free calling to landlines in over 60 different countries. As many mobile carriers in other countries use calling codes different to those that landline providers use there may be charges associated with making calls to mobile numbers. To verify if a call will be free, or if it will incur by-the-minute charges you will want to refer to our Fusion Global Calling Rates page (pictured below, and can be found at: https://www.sonic.com/fusion-global-calling-rates).

From here, simply type in the name of the country that you'd like to call into the search engine to see the various calling codes that the country uses. Alternatively, if you already know the calling code or international number you'll be dialing you can enter it into the search bar and our search engine will look up only that specific code and its calling rate.

  • Codes which are free to dial will be highlighted in green and will have a strikethrough on the calling rate (picture 1 below).
  • Codes which are not free to dial will appear with a light blue or white background (picture 2 below).
  • Searching for the rate of the specific number you intend to call will look up only the code it is using and the accompanying calling rate (picture 3 below).
  • Calling rates are listed in their by-the-minute price to call, and although the majority are only a few cents per minute, there are a few codes which cost dollars per minute to call so it is important to verify the calling rate before making an international call (picture 4 below).
